To shower the sole surviving Del Rubio Triplet, Milly Del Rubio, with as many Valentine’s Day cards as humanly possible. Just because it’s a nice thing to do and it will really lift her spirits to let her know the Del Rubio Triplets are remembered! Here’s the address:
You see, sadly, where there once were three there is now but one triplet left, youngest sister Milly. Born together in 1921, the sisters passed away according to birth order with Eadie going first in 1996 and Elena in 2001. Milly’s still in good health… but there’s something a lot of people don’t realize… these three sisters not only performed together, they never married (they felt it would break them apart) and lived together in San Pedro for their entire lives. Milly spent eighty years with two constant companions and now she’s alone for the first time. I can’t even imagine how strange that must have been for her.
Last week I conspired with Allee Willis, the songwriter who discovered the Del Rubios, and Project Milly was born. In honor of the idea, on Monday Allee posted the inside story of how she discovered the triplets, including some never before seen photos and videos. It’s really cool so I hope you check it out.
To quote Allee, “With all that love pouring in and Milly seeing that she’s still getting her props maybe we can get her to pick up her guitar one last time.” Fingers crossed! :)
Thank you to all you Hidden LAers who sent Milly Del Rubio a Valentine’s Day card. I took hundreds and hundreds of them to her yesterday and she was completely overwhelmed. Letting her know that she’s not forgotten is the best possible gift you all could have given her. I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day too. Milly sends her love!
I have taken ideas from the video to help with my own real estate tours.
Wow, you must give the most amazing real estate tours EVER, Mister Spammer!
Thanks for writing this … probably one of the most encouraging post I ever read. Keep on posting such stuff. ;)
